About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate AI Practitioner Apprenticeship Trainer to deliver high-quality face-to-face training sessions in the Greater Manchester and Lancashire areas and remote support sessions on a 121 basis to apprentices undertaking AI-focused programmes.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing learners’ knowledge and practical skills in AI fundamentals and lifecycle, Data structure and data quality, Applying AI in workflows, Ethics, bias and governance and AI application in business context ensuring they are fully prepared for Gateway and End-Point Assessment (EPA).
This is a flexible, associate-based opportunity ideal for professionals with current or recent industry experience that are suitably qualified to practitioner level in Microsoft, Google or AWS accreditations.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, high-quality training sessions to Level 4 AI Practitioner apprentices
Provide remote 1:1 coaching, mentoring, and pastoral support between scheduled training sessions
Support learners in developing practical AI skills, including supporting practical AI skill development, applying AI tools and automation, data analysis and interpretation, evaluating outputs and creating solutions to business problems
Guide learners in building evidence portfolios and tracking progress using Aptem
Prepare and support apprentices through Gateway and End-Point Assessment (EPA)
Assess learner work in line with the AI Practitioner apprenticeship standard and awarding organisation requirements
Monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and ensure timely achievement
Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to reporting and quality assurance activities using Aptem and associated systems
Promote and embed safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and fundamental British values within delivery
Collaborate with internal teams, employers, and stakeholders to ensure a consistent and high-quality learner experience
Stay up to date with developments in AI technologies, industry trends, and best practice to ensure programme content remains current and relevant
Skills and Experience
Essential
Confidence in delivering training, coaching, mentoring, or facilitating learning for adult learners
Experience supporting apprentices or learners through Gateway and End-Point Assessment processes
Strong understanding of apprenticeship standards, compliance requirements, and funding rules
Competent in using Aptem or equivalent learner management systems for tracking, portfolio management, progress reviews, and reporting
Hold formal accreditation or current professional certification in key technologies commonly associated with AI, cloud, data, and digital apprenticeship delivery, such as Microsoft Certified, AWS Certified, Google Cloud Certified, or other recognised vendor-approved training pathways and industry-standard qualifications relevant to AI and emerging technologies delivery
Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Passionate about learner development, skills growth, and career progression
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into engaging and accessible learning experiences
Desirable
Previous experience working as a tutor, trainer, assessor, skills coach, or apprenticeship coach
Teaching, training, or assessing qualification (e.g. AET, CET, DET, CAVA, TAQA)
Experience delivering AI, data, digital, software, or technology-focused apprenticeship programmes
Advanced certifications in AI, cloud, data, or machine learning technologies
Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, AWS AI services, Google AI tools, ChatGPT, Gemini, or other enterprise AI platforms
Experience working with employers to embed AI solutions and innovation within business processes
Awareness of AI governance, ethics, compliance, and data protection considerations
