We are seeking a senior Head of Apprenticeships with proven experience leading end-to-end apprenticeship provision. The postholder will take full 360° accountability for the apprenticeship lifecycle, working closely with business development colleagues to engage employers and onboard apprentices, ensuring a seamless, high-quality journey from induction to EPA gateway success. This role demands strong expertise in ILR data, funding claims, and regulatory compliance, alongside the ability to maintain robust learner records and drive operational excellence. The successful candidate will combine strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, delivering outstanding learner outcomes, employer satisfaction, and measurable commercial impact.

Key Responsibilities
Apprenticeship Strategy & Leadership
Lead, inspire, and develop apprenticeship delivery and engagement teams to create a high-performance culture.
Transform Government and organisational apprenticeship strategy in operational practices, keeping abreast of changes to relevant legislation and guidance.
Champion apprenticeships as workforce transformation solutions and influence organisational growth priorities.
Collaborate across Sales, Delivery, Operations, and Marketing to align commercial and operational priorities.
Champion best practice, knowledge-sharing, and effective communication across functions.
Prepare and present regular reports and updates to Senior Leadership Team
Support communications and meetings with key external stakeholders, such as DfE, with view to strengthening of relationship
Business Development & Employer Acquisition
Drive employer acquisition in partnership with Sales and Employer Engagement teams.
Support tenders, proposals, and procurement frameworks to secure major clients.
Build enterprise partnerships that deliver long-term growth.
Employer Account Management & Client Success
Implement structured account management practices, ensuring apprenticeships deliver measurable business impact.
Maintain executive-level employer relationships, drive retention, and identify cross- and upsell opportunities.
Programme Design & Delivery Management
Collaborate with curriculum and delivery teams to ensure programmes meet apprentice and employer needs.
Manage onboarding, recruitment, engagement, and progression to guarantee a seamless learner journey.
Identify early any potential risks to successful performance and swiftly implement plans to mitigate these.
Align programmes with evolving skills demand and quality standards, ensuring that programmes remain impactful and in adherence with Government priorities.
Quality Assurance & Outcomes
Own apprenticeship performance, ensuring compliance with DfE, Ofsted, and regulatory standards.
Monitor achievement, retention, and learner experience, implementing interventions where necessary.
Drive high completion and EPA success rates.
EPA Gateway & Completion Success
Ensure timely and effective progression to EPA gateway.
Remove barriers to completion and collaborate with employers and delivery teams to maximise end-point assessment results.
Track completion metrics and continuously improve performance.
Commercial Performance & Growth
Drive strategic growth of apprenticeship provision, including identifying new market opportunities, leveraging employer partnerships, and supporting organisational income targets.
Build scalable delivery pipelines through employer success strategies and long-term client partnerships, working with business development colleagues (as appropriate)
Data Management & Compliance
Accountable for the integrity of all learner data, funding compliance, and reporting, ensuring zero audit findings and full adherence to funding rules
Oversee ILR processing, MIS administration, and monthly funding submissions.
Ensure funding claims, eligibility, and evidence meet audit and regulatory standards.
Lead internal and external audits, responding to findings and driving improvements.
Stakeholder Engagement & Sector Leadership
Act as a thought leader in apprenticeship and workforce development policy, representing IN4 in national and regional forums to influence sector standards and employer adoption
Influence apprenticeship and workforce development strategy across sectors.
Promote IN4 Group’s leadership in digital and technology skills.
Required Skills and Experience
Significant experience working in an Apprenticeship Senior leadership role, with oversight and accountability of the full apprenticeship lifecycle.
Strong project management skills.
Demonstrable experience processing Apprenticeship ILR data, resolving errors, and submitting accurate funding claims.
Extensive experience using skills MIS platforms (e.g., PICS, or similar) and eportfolio systems (e.g. OneFile, or similar).
Knowledge of DfE, Ofsted, or regulatory apprenticeship frameworks.
Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management.
Analytical mindset with ability to use data to drive decisions.
Strong understanding of apprenticeship funding, compliance, and end-point assessment processes.
Ability to validate eligibility and evidence to maintain fully compliant learner records.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex guidance and apply it operationally.
High level of attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Strong communication skills
Experience preparing for and supporting external audits.
Experience developing MIS policies, process maps, or compliance frameworks.
Understanding of digital skills, tech training, or vocational programme delivery.
Advanced data analysis or reporting skills (e.g., Power BI, Excel, SQL).
