We are seeking a Curriculum & Quality Lead in designing, developing and continuously improving high quality training materials in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs), the role ensures curriculum content is coherent, well sequenced, inclusive and aligned to Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
The role plays a critical part in embedding quality assurance into curriculum design and delivery, including contributing to curriculum deep dives, file audits and quality reviews. It translates industry expertise into pedagogically sound, quality driven learning programmes that clearly demonstrate curriculum intent, effective implementation and measurable impact for learners and employers.

Key Areas of Accountability
Curriculum Quality & Standards
Accountable for the quality, coherence, sequencing and inclusivity of curriculum materials, ensuring they consistently meet organisational standards and Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
Ofsted & EIF Compliance
Accountable for ensuring curriculum design and documentation clearly evidences intent, effective implementation and measurable impact, supporting inspection readiness at all times.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
Accountable for embedding quality assurance practices into curriculum development, including curriculum deep dives, learner file audits, evidence reviews and contribution to quality improvement actions.
Curriculum Assurance & Audit Readiness
Accountable for maintaining audit ready curriculum and learner evidence, ensuring materials, assessments and use case projects withstand internal and external scrutiny.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) Engagement
Accountable for the effective collaboration with SMEs, ensuring industry expertise is translated into pedagogically sound, high quality learning content that meets educational and quality expectations.
Employer Relevance & Use Case Impact
Accountable for ensuring use case projects and workshop materials are tailored to organisational needs, produce employer ready outputs and demonstrate tangible workplace impact and return on investment.
Consistency Across Programmes
Accountable for ensuring consistency of curriculum structure, quality and learner experience across programmes, pathways and delivery teams.
Learner Outcomes & Progression
Accountable for curriculum designs that support learner progress, skills development, achievement and progression, using feedback and data to inform improvements.
Quality Reporting & Evidence Contribution
Accountable for contributing robust curriculum evidence and narratives to SARs, QIPs, inspection preparation, quality reviews and senior leadership reporting.
Risk Identification & Mitigation
Accountable for identifying curriculum quality risks (e.g. gaps in sequencing, assessment validity, evidence sufficiency) and implementing timely corrective actions.
Required Skills and Experience
Proven experience in designing, developing and improving high quality curriculum and training materials within further education, apprenticeships, adult skills or employer led provision.
Demonstrable experience working in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate industry knowledge into pedagogically sound learning materials.
Strong understanding of Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework (EIF), including how to evidence intent, implementation and impact through curriculum design and documentation.
Experience contributing to or leading quality assurance activities, including: curriculum deep dives, learner file audits and evidence reviews, quality checks against internal and external standards
Ability to design coherent, sequenced and inclusive curricula that support learner progression and achievement.
Experience developing practical, workplace relevant use case projects that support employer priorities and measurable impact.
Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, audit ready curriculum and quality documentation.
Analytical skills to review feedback, data and quality findings and translate them into continuous improvement actions.
High attention to detail and a quality driven mindset, with confidence to challenge and improve content constructively.
Understanding of SARs, QIPs, internal quality cycles and audit frameworks.
Teaching, training or learning design qualification (or willingness to work towards).
Experience tailoring curriculum and delivery materials for different sectors, employers or organisational contexts.
Familiarity with digital learning tools, blended delivery models or AI enabled learning approaches
Desirable Qualifications
A teaching or training qualification, such as:
Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET)
PGCE / CertEd
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
A recognised quality assurance qualification, such as:
Level 4 or 5 Award/Diploma in Education & Training Quality Assurance
Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) qualification
A learning design or instructional design certification (e.g. digital learning, blended learning, curriculum design).
